The Network Operations Center is located in Qwest’s $63 Million state-of-the-art CyberCenter, the same facility that houses such businesses and organizations as Ebay, J P
Morgan, the FBI, RedHat, the American Cancer Society and the Department of Defense. Housing the network operation center here, allows us to offer one of the largest,
most technologically advanced NOC's in the world.
Connectivity/OC-192 Capacity
The connectivity boasts 4 OC-48’s combining to form an unbelievable OC-192 capacity with 4 levels of redundancy. When Qwest’s network reaches its fullest capacity-trillions
of bits per second—it could transmit the entire contents of the Library of Congress coast to coast in 20 seconds.
Security
Security of your data and systems are especially critical in a Web hosting environment. Each Qwest CyberCenter is designed with the security of these critical assets as a primary
objective. Some of the important security features of Qwest CyberCenters include:
- 24/7 on-site security guards
- Indoor and outdoor security monitoring
- Badge/picture ID access screening
- Biometric access screening
Power Systems
Web hosting support systems must always be available, and the system availability is only as predictable as the availability of power to those systems. Qwest CyberCenters are
designed for redundancy and high availability of power to our critical server systems.
- Dual power availability to each rack from independent power distribution units
- Redundant N+1 design of uninterruptible power supplies
- Redundant stand-by generator power supplies, in the event of a power failure from commercial power
Disaster Control
Each Qwest CyberCenter is designed to withstand disastrous conditions pertinent to its location, ensuring that our systems and equipment continue to run even under extreme conditions.
- Fire detection and suppression systems for 24/7 operations of our critical systems
- Central fire alarm system notification with a direct alarm to the local fire department
- Multi-zone pre-action dry pipe suppression system allowing suppression to be contained to the affected area and not disrupt conditions elsewhere.
Climate Control
To maintain the optimal temperature and humidity levels, our NOC is equipped with cooling towers, water pumps, and chillers; maintaining a uniform 72° temperature and 50%
relative humidity.
